Inspiring people of all ages to become involved in aviation is a primary mission of Auburn Aviation Association. In 2024 we've teamed with EAA Chapter 526, Mach 5 Aviation, The Richard Conte Foundation and The Ellsworth Hovey Getchell Foundation to offer 9 Flight Scholarships. Our mentoring and interview training programs cover essential items like what to wear, how to make eye contact, shake hands properly and send a thank you note. You will meet pilots and mentors from the airlines, former military, the Civil Air Patrol, U.S.. Guard, Air National Guard, CHP, Metro Fire Sacramento, Placer County Sheriff, and Alaska Bush flying. Faculty from the Sacramento City College A&P program and William Jessup University aviation programs will present. Attendees from this program have achieved jobs at Regional/ Major Airlines, Corporate Flight Departments and CFI Flight Instructor positions at airports throughout the country. One attendee earned a pilot slot in the USAFR KC-135 Squadron at Beale AFB and another was hired by RAVN in Alaska as a mechanic. He is now serving as a pilot with Bering Air. Special guest this year is Lt. Col. Josh "Cabo" Gunderson an F-22 Instructor pilot at Langley AFB, VA. and former Raptor Demonstration pilot. Many of you saw "Cabo" fly the F-22 Raptor at the California Capital City Airshow.
