AVIATION CAREER DAY 2024 Saturday January 27, 2024
Auburn, Calif. – Saturday, January 24 saw a flood of eager young (and not so young) aspiring aviators converge on the Auburn Airport to take part in the annual Auburn Aviation Association's Aviation Career Day.
The goal of the Aviation Career Day is to educate, inspire and empower aspiring aviation professionals, and give them the tools and framework to become a successful part of the wonderful world of aviation.
From pilots to mechanics, from areal firefighters and law enforcement officers to air traffic controllers, all facets of the aviation industry were explored and discussed by presenters from across the industry. The participants were presented information on myriad topics, including military aviation and various pipelines in that sector, airline interview and logbook techniques, firefighting, law enforcement, and mechanics. There were also presentations on educational options for students in many of those categories.
Beyond that, however, was the real magic of the career day. The mentors. One of the things that makes the Auburn Aviation Association's Career Day special is that we provided the participants the opportunity to speak one on one with professionals across the industry, from airlines and commercial flight, to mechanics, to active duty and reserve military aviators. Aspiring professionals were given the chance to pick the pros brains and learn first hand how they got to where they are.
After many a handshake and a few business cards exchanged, these bright eyed and bushy tailed future pilots, mechanics, controllers and so much more, are one step closer to their dream of making a difference in aviation, and beyond.
